West Cottage is a delightful 17th century cottage set in its own walled garden, well off the road and with private parking. It has the feeling of a home rather than a rented house owing to the fact that Anne, the owner, stays there often between client visits to care for the house and the garden. West Cottage is delightfully furnished and decorated throughout as well as having log fires in both reception rooms. The Cottage is well equipped in all areas, including the basics of a dishwasher, washing machine, tumbler dryer and power shower.

Our aim is to make our clients feel comfortable and well cared for during their stay and inform them of the best areas to buy food, eat out and shop as well as local areas of interest and other country pursuits. It seems to work as many of Anne's clients return year after year!

Anne had 'paying guests' in Knightsbridge for 20 highly successful and interesting years, and can now offer accommodation and breakfast (and other meals by arrangement, garden produce in season) in this lovely restored Cotswold Cottage, with it's outstanding garden.

In addition, we are offering the opportunity of staying at West Cottage as paying guests. We feel you would like to enjoy the log fires and great food as well as all modern amenities.

West Cottage is situated 5 minutes away from a main line station to London and is 1 hr 35 minutes from London on the M40, so is also available for professional persons.

Special features
1.
We are open all year round

2.  We do short breaks; two to three are popular, often for families to get together for a celebration or to be given as a present which is always much appreciated I noticed!

3.  West Cottage has the enormous advantage of being situated in a picturesque village in a backwater but is the very centre of the Cotswolds but within easy reach of so many places of interest, such as the following (but to name a few):-

- the very popular market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping, Campden and Woodstock, where there is Blenheim Palace with a great little tea room right next to the entrance.

- Royal Shakespeare's Theatre at Stratford is within easy reach

- Sudeley Castle and Gardens

- Hidcote and Kistsgate Court Gardens

- Cotswold golf at Naunton - Cheltenham

- Bath is a favourite also to see the original Roman baths, good shopping and restaurants.

- Bicester Village outlet shopping with top labels and 60% discount.

- Cheltenham racecourse which is home of National Hunt racing and takes place in March every year for four days.  It is a great experience.  Those days are a festival of racing.  Gold cup is a special day and a lot of the best horses in Europe and further take place.  Excellent restaurants and bars.  If you think you might enjoy it book very early in the New Year

- Longborough Festival opera is in June and July.  They have excellent performers.  It is situated in the countryside between here and the next village.

- Cycling and horse riding - both can be rented.

- We think all in all perhaps one of the top favourites are the walks in the woods etc.  We have lists and maps at West Cottage.

- Babysitting and Nanny by arrangement

- There is also a play school in the Village on certain days.

- There are interests for children such as the following:-
*  Cotswold Farm Park
*  Cotswold Falconry Centre attached to Batsford Arboretum - literally just down the road.
*  Gloucestershire Railway - miniature steam railway - great trip.  You can break your trip, bring a picnic and return on a later train.

4.  Pets accommodated by negotiation.

5.  Anne gives her clients a personal welcome for first time clients and explains the workings of West Cottage and to tell you anything you may want to enquire about.

6.  Television, Video and DVD at West Cottage
