Eating and Drinking
There are numerous restaurants, cafes and bars in the local area around West Cottage and in this section we have highlighted some of those well worth a visit.
A further list of places to eat and drink available at West Cottage.
Horse and Groom (Bourton-on-the-Hill)
We now have a fantastic pub restaurant in the village of Bourton-on-the-Hill which serves excellent food. The Horse and Groom was also Pub of the Year 2008 and can be found in the Good Food Guide.
The Fox Inn (Lower Oddington)
One of the most popular pub restaurants in the Cotswolds. High quality food and great atmosphere as well as a fantastic selection of wines available from the wine list. The Fox Inn has a terrace for eating outside and a pretty traditional cottage garden. Booking is essential and the pub gets very busy at the weekends.
The King's Head Inn (Bledington)
Set alongside the village green, by a stream with ducks, this is probably our long term favourite place to eat! At lunchtime they have a great selection of sandwiches and a blackboard of more substantial meals if you wish.
Although a pub in looks, at night they have a first class standard of meal and a separate restaurant if you prefer. Ask for a table in the bar which has log fires and more atmosphere. Please be sure to booking in advance for evening meals and weekends are especially popular.
The Churchill Arms (Paxford)
The Churchill Arms, a traditional Cotswold stone village local, is the setting for some innovative modern cooking using fresh seasonal produce. Expect wooden floors, rustic stone walls, an eclectic mix of furnishings and a bustling dining atmosphere alongside a superb menu.
